What is a Bluetooth profile?
When two Bluetooth (a2dp Bluetooth) devices create a connection, they learn more about the protocols offered by the partner device. Only devices that use the same protocols can exchange data, just as two people need to approve a common language to have an expressive conversation.
Although Bluetooth explains the physical wireless connection among devices, a Bluetooth profile defines the commands and functions that these devices can exchange using Bluetooth technology.
The Bluetooth HSP (Handset Profile) and HFP (Hands-Free Profile) profiles are essential for typical operations of a mono Bluetooth headset. A2DP and AVRCP are essential for stereo headphones.
Which profiles are essential for Bluetooth headsets?
HSP (Handset Profile) – provides the essential functions required for communication between a handset (mobile phone) and a headset.
HFP (Hands-Free Profile) – has slightly expanded the functionality of HSP and was initially intended to control a mobile phone via a stationary hands-free system in the car.
A2DP (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile) – Permits the transmission of stereo audio signals (of much healthier eminence than the mono encoding used for HSP and HFP).
AVRCP (audio/video remote control profile) – is used to carry orders (e.g., skip forward, pause, play) from a controller (stereo headset) to a target device (PC with media player) ) transferred.

Bluetooth A2DP profile explained
You may have seen a reference to the A2DP Bluetooth profile on your smartphone. In your mobile device packaging, or the product documentation. But what organizes it mean, and what does it reveal about a particular device?
A2DP, short for Advanced Audio Distribution Profile. It is a Bluetooth profile defined and adopted by the Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG). This profile allows audio transmission via Bluetooth to supported devices for mono or stereo sound. The A2DP profile is important because it can transmit stereo sound from a Bluetooth device to audio devices & wireless headphones.
If you have a smartphone, PDA, or tablet with A2DP, you can use Bluetooth wireless headphones or earphones to enjoy stereo sound, just like wired headphones. Some A2DP headsets also serve as Bluetooth headsets for smartphones, and some Bluetooth headsets also support A2DP. Most Bluetooth 2.x, 3.0, and 4.0 devices contain the A2DP profile.
